Earthborn Casein paint is supplied as a dry powder and therefore is synthetic preservative (MIT/BIT) free. It is also free of Titanium Dioxide (TiO2).
It is a highly breathable coating which helps to regulate humidity. Controlling relative humidity levels will result in a healthier, more comfortable living environment.
Earthborn Casein Paint is a wipe-resistant wall paint. It is suitable as a decorative coating for plaster, clay (may cause hair-line cracks), wood, sand, lime-brick, gypsum board, wallpapers etc.
Casein Paint is a traditional coating which is made from white lime and casein (milk protein). This type of paint was widely used before commercial chemical paints were developed.
The paint is supplied as a powder which you mix with water to create a coating with a beautiful natural matt finish when dry.
Drying time: Quick drying 3-6 hours between coats. Approximately 7 days to fully cured.
Approx coverage: 7 9m² per kg
Please note: Earthborn Casein Paint is semi transparent when first applied and does not achieve full opacity until completely dry.

Colours
Casein paint dries to a soft white. It can be tinted using the Coloured Earth range of non-toxic pigments.

Ceilings
You can of course paint the casein paint on the ceiling too.
If you are going to paint your ceiling white, it is worth considering one of the air purifying paints which work with sunlight (or sunlight/daylight bulbs) to neutralise noxious gases and odours in the room.
